Riley and Mueller named MVC Field Athletes-of-the-Week

ST. LOUIS - Southern Illinois seniors Brittany Riley and Joe Mueller were named this week's Missouri Valley Female and Male Field Athletes-of-the-Week, the league announced today.
Riley, who hails from Flossmoor, Ill., automatically qualified for NCAA Indoor Nationals during the Saluki Fast Start on Dec. 7 with a throw of 79-06.00 (24.23 meters). Riley also competed in the shot put at the event, placing fourth with a 45-10.00 (13.97m) mark.
Mueller, an O'Fallon, Ill. native, won the weight throw at the Fast Start meet with a mark of 62-02.25 (18.95m). Mueller also competed in the shot put, placing 12th with a mark of 38-06.75 (11.75m).
The Salukis will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host the Saluki Booster meet at the SIU Student Recreation Center.
