Volleyball drops match at Northern Iowa, 3-0

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Southern Illinois University volleyball team fell to Northern Iowa Saturday in Cedar Falls. SIU is now 2-3 in conference play, 11-4 overall.
The Salukis (11-4, 2-3 MVC) fell to the Panthers (16-2, 6-0 MVC) in three sets (25-13, 25-20, 30-28). Brooklyn Robbins posted her 21st career double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs. Jennifer Berwanger recorded her 16th double-double, posting 10 kills and 20 digs. SIU posted 7 blocks, 69 digs and 33 kills as a team against the Panthers.
"I thought we played well," said head coach Brenda Winkeler. "We need to to get better offensively, which is something we'll work on this week."
The Salukis will be back in action Oct. 10-11 at home as they host Missouri State Friday and Wichita State on Saturday. Match times are set for 7 p.m. at Davies Gym.
