Swimming and Diving wraps up day two of Mizzou Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo -As a team the Salukis sit in fourth place after day two at the Missouri Invitational. Individually, the women hold steady at No. 4 while the men are currently in fifth place.
Although the standings remain the same as yesterday, the Salukis dramatically improved their performance on day two of competition finishing among top-five in six different events.
Anthony Bousquet finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.13. Therese Mattsson finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.85, just behind Lori Halvorson of first place Mizzou. Mattsson moved the No. 2 spot in school history for the 200 freestyle, a tenth of a second from breaking the school record. Dennis Hedo also grabbed a top-five finish with 1:39.20 in the men's 200 freestyle. Jameson Kuper kept the momentum going, with a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke (56.36). In the women's 800 freestyle relay Isabel Madeira, Kelly Dvorak, Emily Duerringer, and Therese Mattsson finished fifth with a time of 7:39.22. On the men's side Matt Parsons, Hedo, Matt Kruse, and Bousquet finished fourth in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:41.92.
The Salukis will continue action tomorrow on the final day of the Missouri Invitational.
