Cross country earns USTFCCCA academic honors

NEW ORLEANS - The Southern Illinois University men's and women's cross country teams earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association All-Academic Team honors, the Association announced yesterday.
The award is given to teams that competed in and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet and that have a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average as a team.
The Saluki men finished seventh at the Midwest Regional in November and have a 3.39 team cumulative GPA, which is the 11th-best in the country.
The Saluki women placed 23rd at the Midwest Regional and have a team cumulative GPA of 3.57, which is tied for 21st-best in the country.
