Football adds D'Merius Holbrook to 2008 signing class

CARBONDALE, Ill. - First-year head coach Dale Lennon announced the addition of defensive lineman D'Merius Holbrook to the 2008 Southern Illinois University football recruiting class today.
Holbrook, who comes to SIU from Parker High School in Janesville, Wisc., was named to the 2006 All-Big 8 team. He was also named second team All-Big 8 defensive lineman in 2007.
In his final two seasons at Parker, Holbrook recorded 97 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 19 sacks.
"D'Merius has a bright future as a defensive lineman in the Saluki program," said Lennon. "He has the size, power and speed to be able to be a very good versus the run and the pass."
