Track and Field to take 14 athletes to Mideast Regionals

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois track and field teams will take 14 athletes to compete in 14 events Friday and Saturday, May 30-31 at the 2008 Mideast Regional Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Salukis rank in the top-10 in six events at the regional so far this season with thrower Brittany Riley holding the top ranking. Riley is ranked first in the women's hammer by over five meters, also ranking sixth in the discus.
Jumper Bianca Stuart ranks third in the long jump, while three men's events rank tenth including Sammy Biggs (400m), Brandon Deloney (100m) and Brenton Siemons (shot put).
