CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team will be the No. 6 seed in the 2009 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament hosted by Creighton Nov. 26-28.
With Missouri State's victory over Illinois State Saturday night, Southern Illinois grabbed the final spot, edging out Evansville and Illinois State with wins over teams that rank higher in the Power Ratings Index.
The Salukis will play in their second tournament in three seasons. SIU also makes its second appearance since 2002, the tournament designated for the top-six teams in the league each season.
