Stephany Neptune named MVC Newcomer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois women's basketball player Stephany Neptune has been named the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week the league announced Monday.
Neptune, a senior guard/forward from New York, N.Y., averaged a double-double in two games this week, posting 10.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.5 blocks, shooting 57 percent (8-14) from the field in games against No. 18/22 Vanderbilt and Northern Illinois.
She recorded 12 points, seven boards, three steals and two assists in a big game against Vandy Wednesday, then turned around to record a near triple-double at NIU Sunday with 13 points, 13 boards, nine assists, one block and two steals.
This week's MVC Player of the Week is Indiana State's Kelsey Luna.
