CARBONDALE, Ill. - Junior outside hitter Jennifer Berwanger was one of 12 student-athletes named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Women's Volleyball Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Berwanger, who carries a 3.86 GPA in therapeutic recreation and physical therapy, garnered second-team honors. The junior was named to the Missouri Valley Conference scholar-athlete first team in 2008.
A native of Lake Zurich, Ill., Berwanger currently leads the team in kills (3.61 kps) and is second on the team in digs (3.71 dps). She currently ranks third in career digs with 1,131 and ninth in career attempts with 2,710.
