Softball team's weekend tournament schedule changed

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The 24th-ranked Saluki softball team's weekend tournament schedule at Samford in Birmingham, Ala. has been changed.
Host team Samford had to pull out of the tournament due to family emergencies with two players. As a result, the three-day tournament has been reduced to two days to be played on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14-15.
Southern Illinois will open the double round-robin tournament against Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2:15 p.m., and take on Austin Peay at 4 p.m.
The Salukis will then conclude play on Sunday, Feb. 15 with games against Gardner-Webb and Austin Peay at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
SIU opened the first tournament of the season last weekend with a 4-0 record at the Cathedral City Kickoff in Palm Springs, Calif.
