Track and Field sends three to NCAA Indoor Nationals

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Bianca Stuart, Gwen Berry and Sasha Leeth will represent Southern Illinois University at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Nationals in College Station, Texas this weekend.
Stuart will compete in the long jump during her second-straight NCAA Indoor Championships appearance. She enters the weekend ranked third in the nation after posting 6.56m (21' 6.25") mark at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship on Mar. 1. Stuart became the fourth, four-time Indoor MVC women's long jump champion, setting a new Valley all-time and MVC Championship meet record along the way.
Berry and Leeth will compete in the weight throw. Berry won that event at the MVC Indoor Championships with a NCAA provisional qualifying standard of 19.61m (64-04.00). Leeth earned all-MVC honors after finishing second in the weight throw with a NCAA provisional toss of 18.96m (62-02.50).
The 2009 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 at Texas A&M University's Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. Berry, Leeth and Stuart will all compete on Friday. The weight throw is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., CT, with the long jump following at 4:15 p.m.
