Carbondale, Ill.- The Southern Illinois men's tennis team put another tally in the win column with a victory over the University of Tennessee-Martin, 6-1 at the Carbondale Community High School tennis courts.
With the win the Salukis remained perfect at home this season as they are now 6-0 in matches played in Carbondale.
The Salukis have also been strong in doubles play as they have gone 9-2 in those matches for the season.
Head coach Dann Nelson said even with two of the Salukis not playing in singles, the team was still able to pull off a strong win.
"We played very good and were able to sit some of our guys out today and still be at a very good (UT-Martin) team," Nelson said. "It will help us for the tough competition we have coming this weekend."
The Salukis ( will conclude their six game home stand this weekend as they host Northern Illinois on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Illinois-Chicago on Sunday at 10 a.m. Both matches will be played at the University Courts.
