Track and Field to host SIU Spring Classic this weekend

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois' track and field teams open the outdoor season when they host the SIU Spring Classic Friday and Saturday at McAndrew Stadium on the Lew Hartzog Track.
The Saluki women are coming off of a Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Team Championship and the men, a third-place finish at the championships.
SIU hosts men's and women's teams from Bradley, Illinois State, Southeast Misosuri State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the men's team from Illinois.
The meet will begin Friday at 3 p.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by the men's.
Saturday field events start at 11 a.m. with running events to kick off at 12:30 p.m.
