Carbondale, Ill. - Eleven Salukis participated in NCAA-sanctioned collegiate baseball this summer. Here are their stats and some highlights...
C/DH Tyler Bullock - Richmond River Rats (Prospect League): Bullock turned in an impressive summer season, batting .312, including a .647 slugging percentage, in 52 games and 173 at bats...Bullock also recorded 16 2B, 14 HR's, and 47 RBI on his way to being named the Prospect League's Player of the Year
RHP Kellen Candau - Glens Falls Golden Eagles (New York Collegiate Baseball League): Candau made 12 relief appearances for the Golden Eagles, where he notched a 1-2 record...Candau's 1.45 ERA ranked third-lowest on the team...Opposing batters only hit .148 against Candau
RHP Nathan Forer - Glens Falls Golden Eagles (New York Collegiate Baseball League): Forer made 8 appearances and 6 starts for Glens Falls, earning a 5-2 mark and a 1.52 ERA over 47.1 innings of work...Opposing batters only hit .213 against Forer...The right-hander made one postseason appearance, where he scattered 4 hits and 1 run over 8.2 innings to help the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 win over Saratoga
OF Aaron Roberts and INF Chris Serritella- Licking County Settlers (Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League): Roberts led the Settlers with a .343 batting average in 33 games...In 110 at bats, Roberts drove in 16 runs...Serritella saw action in 31 games for Licking County, where he hit .307 in 101 at bats...Recorded 7 2B and 5 HR during the season
INF Tony Lepore and RHPDaniel Etienne- North Fork Ospreys (Hamptons Collegiate League): Led the Ospreys with a .343 batting average in 30 games...also nothced 13 RBI for North Fork...Etienne made 9 starts for the Ospreys, where he went 5-2 with a 2.75 ERA in 59.0 innings pitched...Led the team with 46 strikeouts
LHP Jimmy Cornell, RHP Neil Hudson, and LHP Ryan Bradley- Richmond River Rats (Prospect League): As one of four Salukis to play for Richmond, Cornell posted a 1-2 record and 3.79 ERA for the River Rats...Made seven starts and ended the season with 38.0 innings pitched...In both starting and relief roles, Hudson posted a 3-3 record for the River Rats, along with a 4.96 ERA in 49.0 innings of work...Bradley made 8 appearances and 3 starts for Richmond, where he recorded a 1-3 record and a 7.63 ERA in 15.1 innings of work
P Randy Hoelsher - Edenton Steamers (Coastal Plain Baseball League): Hoelsher made 13 appearances and 1 start in Edenton, where he recorded a 0-2 record with a 4.10 ERA...In 26.1 innings, Hoelsher nothced 26 strikeouts
