Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois cross country teams will host seven teams this weekend in its annual Saluki Invitational on Saturday.
Among the competition will be SIU-Edwardsville, Culver-Stockton, Washington University-St. Louis, Evansville, Missouri Baptist and Murray State.
"We will be racing nearly our entire men's and women's teams for the first time this year," Head coach Matt Sparks said. "It will be exciting to see how they compete after an intense summer of training."
The women will kick off the race starting at 10 a.m. with a 5K and the men will follow with 8K.
"This will be the last home cross country meet for our seniors who have done some great things for this program and they are excited to go out on a high note," Sparks said.
This will be the second race for the Salukis who previously competed in the Panther Invite at Eastern Illinois University.
The starting point for the course is located behind Abe Martin Field.
