Rayburn scored 25 points against Auburn while Alex Guyton chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds.
SERIES WITH PURDUE
SIU is 4-4 all-time against the Boilermakers, having lost the last three matchups. The Salukis last faced Purdue during the 1989-90 season, falling 61-42.
SALUKIS VS. THE BIG 10
The Salukis are no strangers to the Big 10 Conference having had 82 matchups with Big 10 schools over the years. SIU is 35-47 all-time against Big 10 schools collectively. The Salukis have faced in-state member Illinois the most of any Big 10 school, holding a 21-12 edge over the Illini in the all-time series.
DAWGS ON THE AIRWAVES
The Salukis' game Monday at Purdue will be televised live on the Big 10 Network. The game will be unique for the network as the producer, director and on-air talent for the game will work remotely from Chicago. Only the camera crew will make the trip to West Lafayette, Ind.
OLIVER LIFTS SALUKIS PAST MURRAY
Teri Oliver's 3-pointer with 12 seconds to play lifted the Salukis past Murray State 62-61 Saturday. The shot negated a late-game comeback attempt by the Racers, who overcame a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes to pull ahead 61-59 with 21 seconds remaining. Renee Reed led SIU with a career-best 19 points while Katrina Swingler chipped in 13 and Oliver finished with 10. The Salukis out-rebounded the Racers46-29 but turned the ball over 26 times.
REED'S COMING OUT PARTY
Redshirt freshman Renee Reed's 19 points against Murray State bested her previous season best by 13 points. In only her fourth appearance of the season, the Convington, Tenn., native went 5-for-6 from 3-point range and 7-for-9 from the field. Reed has most of her playing time in recent weeks after seeing it increase following the loss of Saluki guards Eboni Crayton (injury) and Olivia Patterson (left team).
EFFICIENCY IN VICTORY
Southern's two wins this season have come on the team's top two shooting performances. The Salukis posted season-bests of 46.2 percent from the floor (24-of-52) and 50 percent from beyond the arc (9-of-18) in the win over Murray State. SIU shot 46 percent from the floor in a win over Austin Peay.
RECORDS COME IN THREES
The Salukis' 13-for-33 shooting performance from beyond the arc against Wright State set school records for both 3-pointers made and attempted in a game. Additionally, the 33 attempts tied for 14th most in MVC history. Southern shot 20 3-pointers in the first half alone to account for two-thirds of the team's shot attempts to that point and finished the game having shot 44 of 56 field goal attempts from downtown. SIU's achieved its previous high of 12 made threes several times, most recently last season at Missouri State. The team's previous high of 29 attempts also occurred multiple times, with the last coming at Missouri State in 2007-08.
DAWG BITES
The Southern Illinois Basketball team is in its 52nd year of existence. Head Coach Missy Tiber is in her second season with the team and holds a 174-102 (.630) career record in her 10th season as a head coach. Last season the Salukis finished with a 5-24 record and were 4-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Southern returns five letterwinners and two starters from the 2009-10 squad and welcomes three transfers and eight freshmen.
