CARBONDALE, Ill. — SIU women's basketball head coach Kelly Bond-White announced the addition of transfer Raeven Boswell, a 5-foot-11 wing who previously played at Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech.
Boswell, a native of Austin, Texas, and a Lake Travis High School graduate, was an all-state selection and a multi-sport standout. She helped lead her team to multiple district championships and brings ACC experience to Carbondale.
She chose SIU for both basketball and academics, with an interest in the University's Physician Assistant program as she prepares for a career in healthcare.
A left-handed perimeter player, Boswell uses her length and athleticism to affect the game on both ends. She can attack off the dribble, get downhill, and draw contact, while adding activity and toughness on defense. Now fully cleared, she joins the Salukis ready to return to competition.
"Raeven is a versatile player who impacts the game in a variety of ways," Bond-White said. "Her athleticism, defensive versatility, and ability to play multiple positions will add depth to our roster. What stands out most is her resilience. She's worked hard for the opportunity to compete again, and we're excited to welcome her to the Saluki family."
Boswell and Bond-White first connected during the recruiting process. That relationship, along with the coaching staff's Texas ties, helped strengthen the Salukis' pursuit.
During her official visit, Boswell and her mother, Chantelle, connected with the program's family atmosphere and its vision for the future. Their belief in that direction helped make SIU the right fit for her next academic and athletic chapter.
