Women's Basketball hosts Fourth Annual Pink Zone Event Saturday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's basketball team is hosting the Fourth Annual Pink Zone Event Saturday welcoming Illinois State to SIU Arena. Tip-off is set for approximately 4:30 p.m. following the men's game.
Those attending the men's game are encouraged to stay for the women's game.
Tickets are $3 with $1 from each ticket being donated to Southern Illinois Healthcare Women with Hope. Fans that bring in the piggy banks that were handed out at the Northern Iowa game filled with donations will receive free admission.
Local Breast Cancer Survivors from the area will be recognized at halftime.
Anyone with a women's ticket or piggy bank will be admitted at 3:30 p.m. Pink Zone shirts will also be available at this time to the first 750 fans with a women's basketball ticket or season ticket holders.
SIH's "Wish You Well" will be available at 1 p.m. Fans can throw donations, as well as their piggy bank donations, into the well with all proceeds going to SIH Women with Hope.
Starting at 3:45 p.m. at the west entrance to the arena fans will have the opportunity to have their hair spray painted pink, purchase pink hair extensions, receive pink zone tattoos, and pink zone bracelets. FILO, the SIH mascot, will also be there with information on breast cancer awareness.
A silent auction will begin at 1 p.m. Items will include pink jerseys personalized by the women's and men's basketball teams. Proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
