Football to play at Missouri in 2012

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football team has signed a contract to play the University of Missouri on Sept. 8, 2012 in Columbia, Mo.
It will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools and the fifth game in Saluki history against a team that is currently a Big 12 member. SIU played at Kansas in 1986, 1987 and 2000 and faced Baylor in 2001.
With games scheduled at Illinois in 2010 and at Mississippi in 2011, the 2012 game against Missouri will mark the ninth-straight season that Southern Illinois has played a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) program. The Salukis are 2-4 in their past six games against FBS schools with wins at Indiana (35-28 in 2006) and at Northern Illinois (34-31 in 2007).
Southern Illinois' 70 wins since 2003 are the ninth most in all of Division I football (FBS and FCS).
