Three football players receive more preseason honors

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Senior kicker Kyle Dougherty was named to the Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award watch list on Wednesday.
Dougherty, who was also one of three Salukis named to the FCS Senior Scout Bowl 2010 Preseason All-American Team on Tuesday, is up for the place-kicking award for FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA schools. It awards performance on the field and in the community.
The other Salukis on the FCS Senior Scout Bowl All-America team were cornerback Korey Lindsey (North First Team) and offensive lineman David Pickard (North Second Team).
Southern Illinois reports for fall camp this Thursday and the first practice will be held on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
