CARBONDALE, Ill. - After a week off, the Southern Illinois cross country team will return to competition this Saturday, as they host the Saluki Invitational.
Saluki Invitational Meet Information
Running against the Dawgs will be MVC foe Evansville, regional rival Southeast Missouri State, and Division III power Washington University, along with Benedictine-Springfield, Culver-Stockton, Kaskaskia College, and McKendree University.
The women's 5K race will begin at 10 a.m. at the SIU Cross Country Course, followed by the men's 8K race at 10:45 a.m.
The Saluki men will debut their first team - led by seniors Dan Dunbar and Kyle Kirchner - this week after resting the first two events. Meanwhile, the women's team will look to improve off of their third place finish at the EIU Panther Open two weeks ago.
The team is also aiming to repeat its early season individual success, as sophomore Lucas Cherry notched two top three finishes, while seniors Emily Toennies and Megan Hoelscher finished second and third at the EIU Panther Open.
