Track & Field hits the road for Gladstein Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Saluki track & field team will hit the road for the first time in 2010-11 as they are set to compete in the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., this weekend.

Southern Illinois will face some of the top teams in the nation inside the Harry Gladstein Field House, including national powers Indiana, Louisville, and Butler.

At last weekend's Saluki Open, SIU garnered seven first place finishes in their opening meet of 2011. Additionally, senior thrower Gwen Berry punched her ticket to the NCAA Indoor Championships in the weight throw with a mark of 69-06.00 (21.18m).

Competition begins Friday at noon ET with the beginning of the women's pentathlon.
