- WIU won their eighth straight home game.
- Head coach Dale Lennon remains one win away from tying Carmen Piccone for the sixth most victories in school history with 27.
- Juan Carlos Avila's sack in the first quarter was the first of his career. Avila, Kenneth Boatright and Eze Obiora recorded career highs for sacks.

- The Salukis forced three Leatherneck fumbles and recovered two of them, the first two fumbles the Leathernecks lost this season.
- The first quarter was the first time SIU didn't score in a quarter this year. The Salukis have scored at least three points 15 of 16 quarters this year.
- The 17-play drive was the longest of the season, surpassing a 16-play touchdown drive against Ole Miss. SIU tacked on an 11-play touchdown drive in the third quarter, giving it nine scoring drives of 10 or more plays this season.
- Kory Faulkner's touchdown to Luke Standiford in the second quarter was his first career touchdown pass and Standiford's first career touchdown reception.

- SIU rushed for 262 yards, the most of the season. The Salukis have rushed for more than 220 yards in each game this season.

After rushing for 119 against Missouri State, Hampton carried the ball 22 times for 146 yards, the most rushing yards for a Saluki since Steve Strother had 150 yards against WIU last year. The 22 carries ties a career high that he attained while playing at Iowa.
- Kory Faulkner's only career statistics before this year came in last year's season-opening blowout against Quincy. He rushed four times for 39 yards and completed one of two passes for eight yards in the game. This season, he had been 2-2 for 13 yards in the air, with -3 yards rushing. Faulkner finished 12-23 for 143 yards passing and rushed for 70 yards.
- MyCole Pruitt led the team in receiving with four catches for 43 yards. Both his four receptions and 43 yards are career highs.
