CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball program has announced its camp dates for the summer of 2011.

Setter/Middle Hitters Clinic - June 4, 2011
This one-day specialty clinic is designed to assist players in developing their full potential in the chosen specialized position. The majority of practice is spent improving basic skills and developing advanced techniques. All the basic skills (passing, attacking, blocking, individual defense, etc.) are covered but they are practiced and refined as they relate specifically to the player's position (setter or middle hitter). Open to grades 6 - 12.
Outside Hitters Clinic - June 11, 2011
This one-day specialty clinic is designed to assist players in developing their full potential in the chosen specialized position. The majority of practice is spent improving basic skills and developing advanced techniques. All the basic skills (passing, attacking, blocking, individual defense, etc.) are covered but they are practiced and refined as they relate specifically to the player's position (outside hitter). Open to grades 6 - 12.
Defensive Specialist Clinic - June 18, 2011
This one-day specialty clinic is designed to assist players in developing their full potential in the chosen specialized position. The majority of practice is spent improving basic skills and developing advanced techniques. All the basic skills (passing, attacking, blocking, individual defense, etc.) are covered but they are practiced and refined as they relate specifically to the player's position (defensive specialist). Open to grades 6 - 12.
Junior High Camp - June 19-21, 2011
This camp will provide enthusiastic teaching of fundamental skills and teamwork. Open to grades 6 - 8.
High School Individual & Team Camp - July 13-15, 2011
This camp will provide technique enhancement for each individual, introduce offensive and defensive tactics, while raising the level of chemistry for the teams in attendance. Each team in attendance will train and compete as a team. Those who attend as individuals will get placed on a team for the competition phase of the camp. High school coaches are responsible for their team's IHSA adherence.
