Women's Golf host 17th annual Saluki Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's golf team will host the 17th annual Saluki Invitational this Sunday and Monday.

The two-day tournament will feature 14 teams including Austin Peay, Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, John A. Logan, Northern Illinois, Rend Lake, SIU-Edwardsville, SIU-Carbondale, Toledo, and Western Illinois.

Indiana State is the returning champions, as it won the tournament crown with an overall score of 617 while the host Salukis took home seventh place in 2010.

The tournament will take place at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale. The 18-hole, 6,863 yard course opened in 1993 and is the home of both men's and women's Saluki golf.

Tee times are set for a 11 a.m. shot gun start Sunday morning and the first round will consist of a round of 18 holes. Results will be posted on SIUSalukis.com immediately following the conclusion of play each day.
