Danielle Glosson named MVC Scholar Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS -- Danielle Glosson of Southern Illinois University and Griffin Wood of the University of Evansville have been selected the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Week, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today. Glosson and Wood were honored for their performance during the period of April 4-10.
Glosson, a senior from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, posted a 3-0 record and compiled a 1.26 earned-run average in 16.2 innings pitched, as the Salukis went undefeated versus Eastern Illinois (2-0 on April 6) and Bradley (10-0 and 2-1 on April 9 and 11-3 on April 10).
The MVC Pitcher of the Week, Glosson, who has a 3.60 cumulative grade-point average in human nutrition and dietetics, struck out 19 and held the opposition to a .186 batting average in her four appearances. With her two shutouts, she is currently tied for 18th nationally.
Now in its 12th year of existence, The Valley's Scholar-Athlete program is sponsored by Prairie Farms, Roberts and Hiland Dairies. On a weekly basis, the Conference honors its student-athletes for their athletic performance for a one-week period and academic success in the classroom.
