Cristina Trapani named MVC Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS - Cristina Trapani has been named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Trapani came to impress last week as she went 6-for-15 holding a .400 average with two doubles and three home runs. The senior catcher launched all three home runs in the conference series against Indiana State including a grand slam, her second of the season.
She also hit two, two RBI home runs in game three to tie a Saluki single game record for home runs which hadn't been done since Katie Wagner in 2008.
She also recorded 12 RBIs on the week and 17 total bases while maintaining a 1.133 slugging percentage and drew two walks.
On the season, Trapani is hold a .288 batting average and is tied for a team high in doubles with nine, second in RBIs with 31, and has six home runs.
This is the second week in a row the Salukis have grabbed a weekly honor as Danielle Glosson took home Pitcher of the Week for her performance on April 4-10.
