CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University Student Athlete Advisory Committee will host its second annual Student-Athlete Talent Show at 7 p.m. Tuesday at SIU Arena.
Saluki student-athletes will showcase some of their lesser-known talents with nine different acts scheduled to compete for first, second and third place. SIUC Chancellor Dr. Rita Cheng and a panel of faculty and staff from across campus will serve as judges.
Admission to the event is a minimum $3 donation with half of the proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale. Fans in attendance will have a shot at winning door prizes.
"The talent show is an event that allows our student-athletes to have some fun and compete against one another for bragging rights," said Associate Athletic Director for Student Services Kristina Therriault. "It also serves as a way to help the local community by raising money for the local Boys and Girls Club."
Those interested in attending should enter through the SIU Arena main entrance.
