Men's Cross Country ranked ninth in Midwest Region

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois men's cross country team has been ranked ninth in the Midwest Region poll as announced Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Salukis finished last season ranked in the same position after finishing runner-up to Indiana State at the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
Indiana State, Southern Illinois, and Drake are the only MVC teams ranked in the USTFCCCA polls. The Sycamores are ranked 10th in the Great Lakes Region poll while the Bulldogs trail the Salukis in the Midwest Region with a 12th place ranking.
Southern Illinois will begin its season Friday by hosting the Saluki Early Bird at 5:30 p.m.
