Dixon earns MVC Athlete of the Week honors

CARBONDALE, Ill.-- Southern Illinois sophomore Brian Dixon has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Dixon earns the award after his second-place individual finish at the EIU Walt Crawford Open Saturday in a time of 24:53.34. The event marked his highest individual finish and his career-best 8k time.

Dixon's efforts helped the Saluki men's team secure a third-place team finish. The award marks the first for SIU cross country this year.
