CARBONDALE, Ill.-- Southern Illinois women's basketball coach Missy Tiber announced Sunday three players signed with the Salukis during the early signing period.
The 2013 recruiting class includes Carlie Corrigan of Plainfield North High School in Plainfield, Ill., Brandi Harrington of Pace High School in Miami, Fla., and Kim Nebo of Cypress Lakes High School in Katy, Texas.
A 5-foot-11 guard/forward, Corrigan was named All-Area and All-Conference the last two seasons at Plainfield North. Last season, she averaged 18.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game as a junior, earning Special Mention All-State honors.
"Carlie Corrigan is hard-nosed and intense on the court. She will add a great sense of toughness and fighting mentality to our team," Tiber said. "She is an excellent shooter from any range and works extremely hard at developing her skill."
Harrington is a 5-foot-7 guard that attended Miami-area powerhouse Dr. Krop High School first three years of school. She averaged six points, four rebounds and five steals per game from the point guard spot as a junior, helping the Lightning to a 28-4 record and a runner-up finish at the Florida Class 8A state championship last season.
"Brandi Harrington is an elite level athlete and will bring tremendous speed to our team," Tiber said. "She is an excellent passer and playmaker. She is an excellent defender with the ability to change the game with her defense."
A 6-foot-1 forward, Nebo averaged 16.5 point and 12.5 rebounds for Cypres Lakes last season as a junior. She earned First-Team All-District, Academic All-District and First-Team All-Region honors for her efforts.
"Kim Nebo has the ability to play multiple positions with her skill and athleticism," Tiber said. "She is an outstanding rebounder and this is a continued emphasis for our team's goal to play up tempo. With her size and strength, Kim will pose a matchup problem for our opponents."
