Women's Golf heads south for NIU Snowbird

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's golf team will head to Florida for spring break as they take part in the 26th annual NIU Snowbird.
The two-day, 36-hole tournament held at Pebblecreek Golf Course in Tampa, Fla. will feature 11 teams including Chicago State, Florida Gulf Coast, John A. Logan, Laval University, McNeese State, Northern Illinois, Otterbein, Illinois-Springfield, Tampa, and Youngstown State.
Tee times for both days are 8 a.m. CT.
The Salukis kicked off their spring season on Mar. 3-4 when they finished third out of eight teams at the NewWave Communication Racer Classic in Murray, Ky.
Alisha Matthews tied for fourth place with a two round score of 158 and earned her MVC Player of the Week honors last week.
The Salukis will return to Carbondale Mar. 25-26 when they host the Saluki Invitational at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
