Margaret Gilley named MVC Golfer of the Week

ST. LOUIS - Southern Illinois senior Margaret Gilley earned Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors for the second time this season, the conference announced Thursday. Gilley earned her second tournament win of the season on Friday. The Flossmoor, Ill., native's two-round score of 147 (75-72) won the tournament by one stroke and helped lead the Salukis to their third tournament win of the year.
Gilley had her best day in the final round at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Tampa, Fla., when she went even par (72), which was her second-best round this season. Previously, Gilley won the Cardinal Classic on Sept 18-19, 2011. With her finish, she helped the Salukis move from fourth to first in the final round, beating second place McNeese State by three strokes with a 620.
