Three Salukis earn All-MVC Accolades

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Missouri Valley Conference announced today three Southern Illinois women's basketball players have earned All-MVC honors.
Saluki guards Cartaesha Macklin and Teri Oliver were named Honorable Mention All-MVC while Macklin and center Alexus Patterson were named to the Valley's All-Freshman Team.
Macklin earned a spot on both squads after ranking second in the conference in scoring with an average of 16.6 points per game and fifth in assists at 3.6 per game during the regular season. Additionally, her 5.9 rebounds per game ranks third in the MVC among guards.
Oliver picked up All-MVC accolades for the third consecutive season after ranking fifth in the conference in scoring at 15.9 points per game and leading the Valley with an average of 2.9 made 3-pointers per game. The Saluki junior was also named Honorable Mention All-MVC last season after being named to the All-Freshman team the year prior.
Patterson leads the Salukis in rebounding with an average of 7.2 boards per game, which ranks fifth in the MVC. Also, she ranks third on the team in scoring with an average of 6.3 points per game and led the Salukis with four double-doubles during the regular sesaon.
