Fifteen Salukis declare for NCAA West Regional

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois track and field will send 15 athletes to compete in the NCAA West Regional May 24-26 in Austin, Texas.
The NCAA released the full participant list Thursday for the event, which will take place at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Representing the Saluki women's team will be Jeneva McCall (hammer throw, shot put, discus), Kim Fortney (hammer throw, shot put), Ashley Gaston (discus, shot put), Kenya Culmer (high jump, long jump), DeAnna Price (hammer throw), Malaikah Love (triple jump), Tess Shubert (400-meter hurdles) and Amiris Warren (100-meter dash).
On the men's side, SIU will send Zach Dahleen (1,500-meter run), Neal Anderson (10k run), Cody Doerflein (pole vault), Doug Palacious (triple jump), Maxim Bakana (triple jump), Bradley Sauer (hammer throw) and Collin Otto (hammer throw).
The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA final June 6-9 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
