This is the sixth weekly installment of diaries from the 2012 Saluki volleyball team.

What a week for the SALUKIS! Three practices, three matches, three wins.
We started the week off prepping for the first home match at Davies versus SEMO. The Salukis defeated SEMO in a long-fought battle that went to five sets. The Salukis showed their true colors in the fifth set defeating SEMO 15-7.
We got back into the gym Wednesday and Thursday priming ourselves for the important conference game openers versus Indiana State and Illinois State. We faced Indiana State first at 7 p.m. at Davies. Saluki coaches, players, fans, and families left with smiles after defeating Indiana State in three games.
Although we were excited about the win we had a quick turn around with another game Saturday afternoon against Illinois State University. We had to turn our focus to ISU because they are a very physical team with a lot of powerful hitters.
We were not satisfied with just one win and were determined to sweep ISU in three as well. The team focused on a few things such as closing up the seam on a block, and tough serving. By doing these we were able to beat ISU in three.
Although two wins are great we are ready for another hard week of practice, prepping for two tough teams, Wichita State and Missouri State.
Thanks for the great support system this weekend from all of our proud Saluki fans!!
GO DAWGS!!
