MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Southern Illinois men's golf team is set to compete in the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 1-2. The tournament is hosted by Kansas State at the Par-72, 7,525-yard Colbert Hills Golf Course.
The 54-hole tournament will include 36 holes on Monday, beginning with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. The final 18 holes will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 2, with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. Live scoring is not available for the tournament.
The field includes players from four other Missouri Valley Conference schools. Creighton, Drake, Missouri State and Wichita State will all compete. Wichita State will only golf individuals and will not record a team score.
The field also includes 2011 Jim Colbert Intercollegiate champion Idaho, who won the tournament last year by 12 strokes with a three-round score of 874. Host Kansas State placed third last year with a team score of 894.
Last year's individual champion won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 210. Boise State's Taeksoo Kim won the tournament by six strokes.
