Pucylowski, Stegman named to All-Academic team

Southern Illinois punter Austin Pucylowski and long snapper Jason Stegman have both been named to the College Sports Journal FCS All-Academic Team.
Pucylowski is one of three punters to receive the honor this season and the only one with a 4.0 GPA. A junior, he is majoring in biological sciences. Pucylowski averaged 40.2 yards per punt in 2012 and ranked 20th in the nation with a net punting average of 36.7. He was also named to the 2012 Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic first team.
Stegman, a senior, was a three-year starter for the Salukis. He is majoring in electrical engineering with a 3.73 GPA and is the only long snapper named to the all-academic team. In addition Stegman was a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District team and named to the MVC All-Academic second team following the 2012 season.
This is the first year that College Sports Journal has announced an all-academic team.
