CARBONDALE, Ill. — Saluki track and field will hold a youth clinic for middle school and high school students on Jan. 4-5, 2014, at the SIU Student Recreation Center.
The clinic is available for all students from 6th-to-12th grade. Each athlete will receive a personalized evaluation of his or her technique. The clinic will cover the pole vault, shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump, high jump, hurdles and sprints. Coaches are welcome to attend.
The pole vault and throwing event clinics will be held Sat., Jan. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The jumps, sprints and hurdles clinic will be held the following day, Sun., Jan. 5, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. The pole vault and throwing clinics will be $75 each, and the fee to attend the jumps/sprints/hurdles clinic on Sunday will be $75.
To register, students must fill out the registration form and the athletic medical release form and return both with payment to the SIU Office of Continuing Education and Outreach at least three business days prior to the clinic. • Throws Clinic - Sat., Jan. 4 - 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. - $75
• Sprints/Hurdles/Jumps Clinic - Sun., Jan. 5 - 1:30-5:30 p.m. - $75
