Football holds annual year-end banquet

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football program held its annual year-end annual banquet on Saturday. Kenneth Boatright earned the team's Tony Bleyer defensive MVP award, while MyCole Pruitt earned Tony Bleyer offensive MVP. Boatright also earned the team's Toughest Saluki and Defensive Line MVP honors. Pruitt also earned the team's receiving MVP award.
Boatright and Pruitt both earned first-team All-Conference laurels in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Both players also earned All-America honors. Pruitt picked up third-team All-America honors by The Sports Network after recording 49 receptions, 577 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He was fourth in the nation in receiving yards among tight ends.
Boatright earned All-America honors by both the Associated Press and American Football Coaches Association after finishing third in the MVFC with 13.5 tackles for loss and seventh with 5.5 sacks. He recorded 62 tackles in 2012 and blocked a punt, which he recovered for a touchdown.
