Drew Novara named MVC Golfer of the Week

Drew Novara was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Novara, a junior, tied a school record with a 64 during the final round of the F&M Bank Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Novara's 64 was the best round of any golfer at the tournament and matched the SIU record set by Brian Norman on Sept. 14, 2004. He had eight birdies and nobogeys on the day. With a combined tournament score of 209, Novara placed fifth out of 74 golfers in the final standings.

Novara is tied with Wade Thompson as the team's stroke average leaders. Both golfers are averaging 73.14 stories after 14 rounds of play during the fall season.
