DeAnna Price finishes fourth in hammer at Pan Am Games

TORONTO - Southern Illinois thrower DeAnna Price finished fourth in the hammer throw at the 2015 Pan American Games. Price, representing Team USA, threw 68.84 meters in her final attempt.
Price, the 2015 NCAA Outdoor hammer champion, was one of two Americans among the nine competitors in the international competition. The United State took two of the top four spots in the hammer, with Amber Campbell claiming the silver medal.
Price is the third-best individual hammer thrower in NCAA history, throwing 72.30 at the USA Championships. Price helped SIU finish 12th as a team at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
By finishing second in the event at the USA Championships, Price automatically qualified to represent the United States at the NACAC Championships (Aug. 7-9) and 2015 World Championships (Aug. 22-30).
