SIU announces 2016 Saluki Football schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki Athletics announced the 2016 Saluki Football schedule on Monday morning. The Salukis will play six home games in 2016. Season tickets are on sale today by calling 877-SALUKIS.
Nick Hill will make his head coaching debut on Sept. 3 when Southern Illinois plays at Florida Atlantic. SIU's home opener is the following week against Southeast Missouri. Murray State (Sept. 17) and Indiana State (Oct. 22) will be hosted on Southern Illinois' Family Weekend and Homecoming, respectively.
South Dakota State is back on the eight-game Missouri Valley Football Conference schedule. After not facing the Jackrabbits the past two seasons, SIU will host the Jacks on Oct. 8. SDSU replaces North Dakota State on the conference schedule. SIU hosts SDSU, Indiana State and Western Illinois in conference play, all of which spent most of the 2015 season ranked in the top-25 nationally.
Season tickets are available by calling 877-SALUKIS during normal business hours. For six home games, season tickets start at just $85, and sideline seats are available for as little as $105 for the entire 2016 season.
