Women's Results
The Saluki cross country team came away with a pair of 22nd place finishes, highlighted by a top-15 finish in the men's race at the Bradley Classic held in Peoria, Ill.

Sophomore Josh Maier paced the men for the fourth time in as many races. The Alsip, Ill. runner placed 12th in the men's 8K Red race with a time of 24:46.6, with the difference between 11th and 12th place at just over a half-second. Junior Jonathan Vara finished 34th with a time of 25:13.0.

Junior Shannon Effron paced the women's team for the first time this season. Effron, a native of Newburgh, Ind., finished 69th overall with a time of 22.08.9. Freshman Olivia Murphy crossed the finish line eight seconds later, placing 79th with a 6K time of 22:17.0.

Both teams finished 22nd in their respective meets in a field that featured Missouri Valley Conference opponents Illinois State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Loyola, and the hosts, Bradley University. The SIU men earned a 534 team score while the Saluki women finished with a team score of 573.

SIU will next compete at the MVC Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
