ST. LOUIS -- Southern Illinois senior thrower Freya Block has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the Valley announced Tuesday.

Block posted her first collegiate win of her career in the weight throw Saturday at the Saluki Fast Start. Block's winning toss of 65'-3.5" (19.90m) is the furthest throw in the Missouri Valley Conference this season, and the seventh-furthest in the nation this season.
