Hanna Netisingha named MVC Golfer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saluki sophomore Hanna Netisingha was named MVC Golfer of the Week following a strong performance at the FGCU Eagle Invitational last week, the Valley announced yesterday.
In the Salukis' first tournament of the spring season, Netisingha finished the FGCU Eagle Invitational tied for third place out of 83 golfers. Netisingha finished the tournament shooting 223 (75-73-76), just eight over par. On the final round, despite windy conditions, Netisingha was able to finish three under par on her first nine holes, ultimately finishing the day with four birdies. She finished the entire tournament with nine birdies.
The sophomore moved from ninth place after day one of the tournament to third by the end. Last year, the Salukis' highest finisher was 18th overall. Netisingha's score helped the Salukis finish tied for seventh of the 15 teams present, finishing with a 924 team score, 34 strokes lower than the Salukis' score at the same tournament last season.
At the start of the spring season, Netisingha averages 76.93 strokes. This is her second time placing in the top-five at a tournament this season after finishing first at the UIC Fall Invitational in September.
