ST. LOUIS - Southern Illinois thrower DeAnna Price earned her third straight and seventh career Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week honor as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
Price continued her push to break the collegiate hammer throw mark on Saturday at the Joey Haines Invitational, winning the hammer for the third-straight meet with a toss of 71.47m (234-06). It marks the 10th-longest throw in NCAA history, and while Price remains third all-time, she now has three of the top-10 furthest throws in NCAA history. The Moscow Mills, Mo., native also took second in the shot put and third in the discus, with her mark of 49.27m (161-08) in the discus representing the longest throw of the season in the Missouri Valley Conference.
The Salukis return to competition on Friday, April 8 at the Tiger Track Classic, hosted by Auburn University.
