After two days of play, the Saluki Women's Golf Team finished the Missouri Valley Conference Preview tied for third with defending conference champions, Missouri State.

The Dawgs ended the third round with a score of 311, giving them a final score of 921 for the tournament.

SIU was one of 11 teams competing at the tournament, 10 of which who were from the MVC. Wichita State won the bid to host the Preview last season before moving to the AAC.

Wichita State and Northern Iowa both tied for first at the end of tournament play. Wichita won the playoff hole against UNI.

"We only lost to one MVC team and we beat the top ranked Valley team coming into this," Head Coach Alexis O'Brien said. "It's very promising when we come back for the championship in April."

Senior Hanna Netisingha placed fifth, nine over par, seven strokes behind first place Taryn Torgerson from Wichita State and one stroke behind second place. Overall Netisingha shot a 225.

Four strokes behind Netisingha was sophomore Erica Kerr. Kerr who played as an individual, tied for 12^th with Maddie Bertsch from UNI.

"Hanna showed she's one of the top players in the MVC and Erica demonstrated she should be in the line-up," O'Brien said.

Senior Alice Ho ended tied for 15^th with an overall score of 231 and freshman Moyea Russell ended two strokes behind Ho tied for 20^th.

The Salukis will be back in Newton, Kan. for the MVC Championship in April, but before that, the Dawgs have one more tournament to end out their fall season.

Southern will be back in MVC territory in Evansville, Ind. for the Charles Braun Intercollegiate on October 23-24.
