KENNESAW, GA – Southern Illinois will play its final men's golf tournament of the fall season when it returns to the Pinetree Intercollegiate on Monday. The Salukis finished in eight place at last year's tournament.
The lineup for this weekend features Belmont, Florida Golf Coast, Gonzaga, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Nichols State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin. Kennesaw State is currently ranked in the top 50 on GolfStat.com. Wisconsin is ranked in the top 100 with Southern Illinois ranked at 121.
The Pinetree Country Club was designed by architect Chick Adams in 1962 and is regarded among the finest private golf courses in Georgia. Legends like Arnold Palmer and Bobby Jones have played this course. In 2008, Pinetree was renovated by architect Bill Bergin.Â
The Salukis traveling to Kennesaw this weekend are Peyton Wilhoit, Hunter York, Dirk Kuehler, Luke Gannon and Sam Meek.
Live stats will be available via GolfStat.com. The teams will tee off on Monday at 8:10 AM for the first round and round two begins at 1:30 PM for continuous play. The final round will start at 8:10 AM on Tuesday.Â
