Cusumano wins third Golfer of the Week of the season

Senior Brooke Cusumano was named the Missouri Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week on Wednesday for her performance in the Bradley Spring Break Invite in Dallas.

Cusumano finished tied for fourth with Wichita State's Taryn Torgerson, her fellow Golfer of the Week; both shot eight-strokes over par. On Tuesday, she went one-stroke under par through her final six holes to help propel her to an eighth-straight top-10 finish and her fourth top-five of the season. Monday, she shot a 72 in the opening round and 76 in the second. Cusumano and Torgerson tied for third in the event in par 4 scoring at 4.16 strokes per hole. The Saluki senior carded five birdies; the fourth most at the tournament.

This is the third time this season and the fifth time in her career that Cusumano has been named as the Golfer of the Week. This makes the fifth time that a Saluki has been named Golfer of the Week by the MVC in the 2016-17 season. Senior Kristie Yang won Golfer of the Week the other two times.

Cusumano and the Salukis are back on the course this weekend at the Lamar Challenge in Beaumont, Texas.
